Contact Tags
Tags are reusable labels that live on the contact. Add them from Contacts, Messages, or campaign setup, then filter by tag whenever you need to find those people again.
How it works
- 1
Add tags
Bulk-tag contacts, tag from a conversation, or attach tags to a campaign.
- 2
Tags stay on the contact
They follow the person across every thread, not a single conversation.
- 3
See them everywhere
Chips show on inbox rows and next to the name in an open chat.
- 4
Filter later
Filter Contacts or Messages by tag to find that segment in seconds.
STEP 01
Tag contacts in bulk from Contacts
Select contacts in the Contacts list, open bulk actions, and choose Add tags.
- Search existing tags or type a new name to create one.
- Adding tags never replaces tags already on the contact.
- Tags are free-form, so use names your whole team will recognize.
STEP 02
Tag from a conversation in Messages
Right-click a conversation in Messages, or bulk-select several, and add tags without leaving the inbox.
- Tags show as chips on the inbox row and next to the contact’s name in the open chat.
- Because tags live on the contact, they appear on every conversation with that person.
STEP 03
Attach tags to a campaign
In Text Blaster or round-robin setup, click Add tags to label everyone the campaign reaches.
- Campaign tags are added only to contacts whose message was accepted for sending.
- Contacts that were skipped, like DNC or opted-out numbers, don’t get the tag.
- This makes it easy to find everyone who received a specific promotion later.
STEP 04
Filter by tag
In Contacts, open Filters and pick a tag in the Tag section. Messages can be filtered by tag the same way.
- Great for follow-ups: filter by a campaign tag to see who got the promotion.
- Tags are labels, not audiences. To send to a set of people, put them in a contact group.
Pro tips
Get more out of Contact Tags
Agree on a naming style
Pick a pattern like campaign-month or stage names so tags stay consistent across the team.
Tag every campaign
A campaign tag makes it easy to find everyone who received a specific promotion later.
Groups vs. tags
Groups choose who a blast goes to. Tags help you find and sort people afterward.
Stack tags
Contacts can carry several tags. Adding a new one never removes the old ones.
Tag from the inbox
Label hot leads right from Messages while the conversation is fresh.
Keep it lean
A short list of well-used tags is more useful than dozens that are each used once.
Common questions
What are contact tags?
Reusable free-form labels on the contact. Add them from Contacts, Messages, or campaign setup, then filter by tag. They don’t choose a campaign audience; groups still do that.
When do campaign tags apply?
Tags selected in Text Blaster or a round-robin blast are added only to contacts whose messages were accepted for sending.
Will adding a tag remove existing ones?
No. Adding tags only appends. Tags already on the contact stay in place.
