Message Templates
Templates are saved messages you can drop into a campaign in one click. Write them once on the Templates tab, keep merge fields like {first_name} in them, and reuse them from the Text Blaster composer.
How it works
- 1
Write it once
Give the template a name, an optional category and the message text.
- 2
Keep merge fields
Tokens like {first_name} stay in the template and fill in at send time.
- 3
Pick it in the composer
Use template in Text Blaster drops the text into your message.
- 4
Edit as you go
Update or remove templates any time from the Templates tab.
STEP 01
Open Campaigns → Templates
Templates is the last tab in Campaigns. The page has two parts: Create Template at the top and Existing Templates below.
- The list shows the templates you’ve created, most used first.
- Each row shows the name, a preview of the text, the category and how many times it’s been used.
- No templates yet? The list says so until you create your first one.
STEP 02
Create a template
Fill in Name and Body, add a Category if you like, then click Create.
- Name and Body are required. Category is free text, such as reminders or onboarding.
- Click a merge field chip to insert it at your cursor. Merge fields detected lists the ones in your text.
- The body is checked for compliance as you type, and risky words are highlighted.
STEP 03
Edit or delete a template
Use the pencil icon on a row to edit it in place, or the trash icon to delete it.
- Editing opens the name, category and body right in the list. Click Save to keep changes or Cancel to back out.
- Changes apply to future uses only. Campaigns you already sent aren’t affected.
- Delete removes the template right away, with no confirmation step.
STEP 04
Use a template in Text Blaster
In the Message section of Text Blaster, click the Use template button next to AB. Pick a template from the list and its text fills the message box.
- The template replaces whatever is already in the message box.
- Edit the text freely after you insert it. The saved template doesn’t change.
- Each use adds to the template’s Used count, which keeps your favorites at the top.
STEP 05
Pick a template for each A/B variant
When A/B test is on, the Use template button is replaced by an A button and a B button. Each one opens the template list for that variant.
- Click A to fill Variant A, or B to fill Variant B.
- Use two different templates to test which wording gets more replies.
- Click X to leave A/B mode and go back to a single message.
STEP 06
Save AI suggestions as templates
You can also create templates without typing. In Text Blaster, open AI Suggest and click Save on any rewrite or framework you like.
- The template is named after the suggestion’s title plus today’s date.
- It’s added to your Templates list, where you can edit or rename it.
Pro tips
Get more out of Message Templates
Name for scanning
Short, specific names like “Service reminder” are easier to spot in the composer list than “Template 3”.
Keep personalization in
Leave merge fields like {first_name} and {brand_name} in the template. They fill in for each contact when you send.
Skip the opt-out line
If your workspace appends an opt-out footer automatically, leave “Reply STOP to opt out.” out of the template so it isn’t sent twice.
Reuse your winners
When an A/B test shows a clear winner, save that copy as a template so your next campaign starts from it.
Use categories loosely
Category is free text. Pick a few labels like reminders or follow-up and stick with them.
Use them in bulk replies
Your templates also appear under Quick replies & templates when you send a Bulk reply from Messages.
Common questions
Where do I find my templates?
Go to Campaigns → Templates. In Text Blaster, click the Use template button in the Message section to pick one.
Does editing a template change campaigns I already sent?
No. Inserting a template copies its text into your message. Later edits only affect future uses.
Can templates include merge fields?
Yes. Use any merge field from the chips, such as {first_name}, {company} or {sender_first_name}. They fill in with each contact’s details at send time.
Can I get a deleted template back?
No. Deleting happens right away with no confirmation, so double-check before you click the trash icon.
