How-to guide · Calling
Call Forwarding
Have calls to your Statxt number ring your cell. You set it once in Settings → Profile, and it covers every voice-capable number assigned to you.
How it works
- 1
Enter your cell
Type your cell number in Forward Calls To on your profile.
- 2
Save
Click Save Changes. Statxt sets up forwarding on your numbers in the background.
- 3
Someone calls
A contact dials one of the voice-capable Statxt numbers assigned to you.
- 4
Your cell rings
The call is forwarded to the number you saved, so you can pick up anywhere.
STEP 01
Open Settings → Profile
Click Settings in the sidebar. Profile is the first tab, and it holds your personal preferences.
- Forwarding is a personal setting. Each teammate sets their own.
- Any role can set it, as long as a Statxt number is assigned to them.
- Forward Calls To sits just below your Phone Number field.
STEP 02
Enter your cell in Forward Calls To
Type the phone you want calls to ring. Most people use their own cell.
- A 10-digit US number works. You can also start it with +1.
- It can’t be one of your Statxt numbers. That would send the call back into Statxt.
- The Phone Number field above is separate. Forwarding only uses Forward Calls To.
STEP 03
Click Save Changes
Save to turn forwarding on. Nothing changes until you save.
- You’ll see a Saved message at the top of the page.
- Statxt then sets up forwarding on your numbers in the background.
- One field covers all of your voice-capable numbers. You can’t pick a different cell per number.
STEP 04
Make sure your number handles calls
Forwarding works on numbers assigned to you that support voice. Check in Telephony.
- Open Telephony → Phone Numbers.
- Look for the VOICE chip on each number card.
- A number without VOICE is text-only, so calls to it aren’t forwarded.
- No number assigned to you yet? Ask Statxt support for one first.
STEP 05
Test it with a quick call
From a different phone, call your Statxt number. Your cell should ring.
- Give it a moment after saving before you test.
- Don’t test from the cell you’re forwarding to. Use another phone.
- If it doesn’t ring, check that Forward Calls To saved and that your number shows VOICE.
STEP 06
Change or turn off forwarding
Update the field any time. To stop forwarding, clear it and save.
- To switch phones, replace the number and click Save Changes.
- To stop, delete the number so the field is empty, then click Save Changes.
- A cleared field stays cleared. Statxt won’t fall back to your profile phone.
Pro tips
Get more out of Call Forwarding
Use a phone you carry
Forward to the cell you keep with you, so you don’t miss calls from contacts you’ve been texting.
Never a Statxt number
Forward Calls To must be an outside number. Statxt blocks your own numbers to avoid a call loop.
One setting, all your lines
Every voice-capable number assigned to you forwards to the same cell.
Each teammate sets their own
Forwarding follows the person. Ask each teammate to fill in Forward Calls To on their own profile.
Look for VOICE
Text-only numbers don’t take calls. Check the capability chips in Telephony.
Texts aren’t affected
Forwarding is for calls only. Texts to your number still arrive in Messages.
Common questions
How do I forward inbound calls to my cell?
Go to Settings → Profile, enter your cell in Forward Calls To, and click Save Changes. Calls to your voice-capable Statxt numbers will ring that cell.
Why didn’t my call forward?
Check that Forward Calls To is saved with a valid outside number, that a Statxt number is assigned to you, and that the number shows VOICE in Telephony.
Can I forward to another Statxt number?
No. Forward Calls To can’t be one of your workspace’s Statxt numbers. Use your cell or another outside number.
How do I stop forwarding?
Clear the Forward Calls To field and click Save Changes.
